I took this photo of Sarah, with background directly across the road of the burial ground in Donnybrook, where her grand-aunt – who was a nun at the convent next door – is buried. It seemed appropriate. The old burial ground is understandably under lock and key, and we spent too much time talking that she didn’t get the chance to go to the grave. There is always another time. I told her that she could show it to her dad. That was a long walk from town you took to come and visit me. I appreciated it so much. Thanks, too for the very long chat we had at Kiely’s, and the soup and egg sandwiches I tucked into with relish. It’s always delightful catching up on stuff.
