Clonakilty Elephant Competition Design Winners:
Children across Ireland were asked to come up with a design that represented Irish culture and identity. The winning design was painted by Bill Griffin in April and shipped to London where it represented Ireland in London’s biggest outdoor art event on record: www.elephantparadelondon.org
Highly recommended: Flora Holmes, age 7, Dublin. This unmistakably Irish design has won the category for her age group. Hundreds of shamrocks adorn the elephant!
Overall Winner: Aoife Burke, age 10, Co. Louth This beautiful design was inspired by the myths and legends of Ireland. Highly recommended: Rionach Cawley, age 11, Co. Mayo. This intricate celtic design was a big hit with the judges – a huge amount of skill went into this wonderful creation.
