Birds on the Donnybrook branches

Marie-Thérèse O’Loughlin

It’s very overcast and wet outside, but not raining. As you can see, the Irish sky above is very grey this Thursday mid-day – 22nd Nov 2012. I enjoy taking photos of various types of weather, as they create their own mood and colour. The birds perched on the branches blend in beautifully with the colour of the sky. The birds are very fond of gathering at the tops of these particular branches in the garden. I think they strategically position themselves here in order to hone in on the overall surroundings There is a very large nest nearby, but no birds seem to go near it at all. I’ve been avidly watching it of late. Hence spotting the goldfinch, and the larger bird of which I don’t have name for as yet – perches on adjacent branches.
