The Barge Pub

This is not the best photo I’ve taken in terms of light etc. Nonetheless, I find it very very atmospheric. It captures a moment in time – an early summer evening – with Irish people doing what they’re expert at…yeah, socialising in a pub setting, albeit – this one in a setting with a difference. Almost continental-style. It’s also non-invasive from the perspective of the camera, and that of the patrons towards each other. Humans are social beings and conditioned social behaviour is all too apparent here. Behaviour that ones sees within the confines of a pub space is mimicked out in the open. All are playing a role. The image also brings into being a good view of the Barge pub, that was taken from a different angle. See: last two photos.
