There was a shop and a post office belonging to the Murphy’s of ‘The Dairy House’, as the farm was /is still called to this day. My mother used to visit Maggie [who eventually inherited same] there when she was a child. The Murphy’s were very kind to my mother, who was the only girl out of a family of six boys. It was an escape from the hard slog on the farm as well as all the boys.
