The Still pond Fairfield Enniscorthy Co. Wexford revisited

I discovered this very scenic photo of Mute swans and cygnets in The Still pond at Fairfield Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. This is a man-made pond. It was connected to the now defunct distillery that stood directly opposite it. This is a well-known landmark in the hamlet. My mother and all her brothers would have regularly played here as children, as they only lived a stone’s throw away. I would have given the world to have grown up in such an exquisite environment. I feel so connected to it, despite not being there. Whenever the world lets me down I think of Fairfield. I will definitely go back there again.

Here is another one that is ever so pretty. It’s ironic, that if Joan Doyle-Ryan’s now deceased sister Nellie had not handed over property she had a vested interest in to a nephew by marriage, these images consequently would not have emerged. You see, her nephew, built six small houses where the old shop and house lay. One of therm is now up for sale.

This is also a beautiful view of nearby Monart House.
